TATA Motors Dharwad unit is located on the Pune- Bangalore highway around 425 km northwest from Bengaluru, Dharwad Plant is the latest green field project of CVBU being commissioned for production of Ace, Magic, Magic Iris. It is spread over an area of 400 Acres with a separate proposed vendor park.
With an Installed capacity of 90,000 vehicles annually, its employee strength is projected to be around 1500 by the end of financial year 2012-2013 and boasts of a young work force.
It has facilities which include Weld shop, trans-axle & engine assembly shop, TCF assembly line, auto-phoretic paint shop. A main paint shop of higher capacity is also under construction.
