Today we are having lot off high level Programming languages and framing tools for developing a software but for developing System related software every development companies has been using only C and C++ programming Languages not  Java ,Dot Net and others.

C is still being used in lot of fields:
1.    In the development of Networking application.
2.    In game application.
3.    In database designing application.
Ex- oracle
4.    In chip designing or system programming
5.    In business oriented application
6.    Scientific related application.
 
From jobs point of view c is most important thing. If you are fresher, in technical round most of the questions come from C and C++ even most of the interviews start with C concepts. Because all basic concept for any programming languages   derive from C and the interviewer just want to check your basic concept and your confident and if you have the knowledge your confident level goes high. If you have good knowledge in C and C++ you can easily learn other advance programming languages. All system related software developed by using only C and C++, so lot of jobs is available in C and C++ fields. If you gain good knowledge in C and C++ you definitely got a job.
